First ASTP and AUTM Summit on

'Trans Atlantic Technology Transfer’

Amsterdam, 28th of May 2005

Introduction

The first ASTP / AUTM Summit on ‘TransAtlantic Technology Transfer’ will take place on Saturday the 28th of May. Aim of this day will be the sharing of perspectives – understanding similarities and differences ‘on the other’ side of the pond. We very much would like to invite you to this unique opportunity, where colleagues from both the associations will discuss with each other and the audience about current common issues in Tech Transfer as well as the difference between the environments in which we work. The event, which will be structured in interactive plenary- and parallel sessions, is open to all individuals: we expect to welcome about 150 people.

Distinguished speakers from all over the world will share their experience with us during a lively and interactive day.

The event will be opened by the Presidents of both Associations and followed by an introduction on Technology Transfer into Asia – an inside track on doing business in this burgeoning market

Parallel sessions will continue on:

- Early Stage Development  Funds: Bad money after good ?

- Managing Institutional Expectations

- Tech Transfer as an Instrument of Regional Policy

- Strategic Management of Tech Transfer: an Impossible Dream ?

The event will close with an interactive debate on Technology Transfer - reflections and predictions (or "How to stay ahead and keep having fun")
