Our Annual Conference takes place in late spring. These two day conferences, followed by our General
Assembly, offers our members and other participants the opportunity to access a broad range of subjects,
varying from strategic university policies to elementary skills, indispensable for those who are operating as
Technology Transfer Officers at Universities or by others who are also involved in Science-Based
Technology Transfer.

Budapest, 2004
For the fifth Annual Conference ASTP visited Budapest, located on both sides of the beautiful Danube and famous for its agreeable Fin du Sciecle atmosphere, thermal bathes and Art Nouveau buildings and decorations. Almost 200 delegates were enlightened by expert speakers from Europe and the US on Good Practices in Transfer of Science and Technology who shared us with their knowledge and experiences on licensing, current models of technology transfer, conflict of interest and a variety of aspects related to spinning out companies from scientific institutions. The Introductory course on Licensing turned out to be a great success. Three expert speakers from Europe and the US introduced us into the world of Licensing, from the very basics up to pitfalls and useful tips of this complex but interesting field. Copenhagen, 2003 ASTP's fourth annual conference took place in Copenhagen, on the 22nd and 23rd of May 2003. The afternoon preceding the conference, we were generously welcomed by Symbion, a full service private science park and incubator. The combination of Copenhagen’s history, recent trends and future developments offered the perfect environment for an inspiring and enjoyable conference with more than 150 delegates and prominent speakers from Europe as well as the US. Among them were many experts from the techtrans, legal and financial world, eminent scientists and (past) presidents of AUTM who shared with us their experiences. To mention one: the renown prof. James Utterback from MIT opened the second day with a lecture on Dynamics of Innovation. To view more information on this conference, please go to Copenhagen 2003 page. |
