Site Visit K.U. Leuven Research & Development
Belgium, 11 April 2008

This Site Visit is nearly sold out!
There are only 5 places left, reserved for ASTP-members
Please contact us if you would like to be put on our waiting list, in case we will receive a cancellation.

Last September ASTP started the first serie of fly-in, fly-out site visits that ASTP is organising to leading Technology Transfer Offices around Europe. We learned from the first one that these visits give valuable insights into the way that such offices operate, and of their organisation, genesis and underlying principles – vastly more than listening to any presentation or visiting any website. The take-home messages are likely to be very personal – it’ll be down to individual members to decide what they can apply back in their own environment.

This one day event is structured to a series of talks – but with plenty of time for facilitated discussion. Numbers are limited to 40 participants in order to preserve an informal atmosphere. We are doing everything we can to keep the administration and participant costs right down – including on-line credit-card-only registration and a timetable that allows you to fly in and fly out on the same day.

About the K.U. Leuven Research & Development

Situated in the heart of Western Europe, K.U.Leuven has been a centre of learning for almost six centuries. Founded in 1425, the university bears the double honour of being the oldest Catholic university in the world and the oldest university in the Low Countries.
Such a rich history of nearly six hundred years has provided K.U.Leuven with its own dynamic international dimension. Today, the university caters to more than 31,000 students, around 12% of whom are international students from more than 120 nations. Top-level research is judged according to international standards and implies interaction, co-operation, and exchange, both of researchers and results. As such, K.U.Leuven is a charter member of the
League of European Research Universities, and European surveys rank K.U.Leuven among the top ten European universities in terms of its scholarly output.
The technology transfer office, Leuven Research & Development, operates since 1972, and covers collaborative research & consulting, patenting & licensing, and spinning out companies (including several incubators and a venture fund).
